Feature Lighting Installation Ferntree Gully
Pendants over the island, strip lighting under the cabinets, a wall light that finally makes the hallway work. We install feature lighting for homes across Melbourne's eastern suburbs.

You've Picked the Lights, Now They Need to Go In Properly
Most people come to us with the fittings already chosen. What they don't have is a power point in the ceiling where the pendant needs to hang, or a switch that controls it separately from the rest of the room.
Feature lighting lives or dies on placement. Pendants hung slightly off centre over an island are obvious forever, and strip lighting installed without thinking about where you stand casts a shadow straight onto the bench.
The work usually involves one or more of:
- Adding a new ceiling point where there isn't one
- Splitting a feature light onto its own switch or dimmer
- Setting drop heights and spacing over an island or table
- Concealing strip lighting so you see the light, not the fitting
Getting that right is the difference between a light you notice and a room that just feels good to be in.

We install pendants, wall lights, strip lighting and statement fittings, and we take care of the wiring and switching behind them so the result looks considered rather than added on.
If you're not sure on spacing or drop height, we'll mark it up with you before anything is fixed. It takes ten minutes and it's the part people are most glad we did.
We work on fittings you've supplied or help you choose something that suits the space and the switching you already have.
What we do:
- Plan positions, spacing and drop heights with you on site
- Run new ceiling and wall points where needed
- Put feature lighting on its own switch or dimmer
- Install and level every fitting
- Test, clean up and leave the room ready to use

Frequently Asked Questions
Yes, that's how most of these jobs start. Bring us the fittings and we'll check they're suitable for the position and the ceiling before we install them. If something won't work safely we'll say so before you're committed.
As a general rule the bottom of the pendant sits somewhere around 70 to 80cm above the benchtop, but it depends on your ceiling height, the fitting and how tall the household is. We set the height with you on site rather than guessing.
Usually not. Most feature lighting can run off the existing lighting circuit. If we're adding a lot of fittings or your board is already at capacity we'll check it first and let you know before any work starts.
In most cases yes, as long as the fitting and globe are dimmable and we install a compatible dimmer. We match the two together so you get a smooth range rather than flicker at the low end.
Only where a new point is needed. We keep any openings as small as possible and position them where the fitting will cover them. We'll walk you through what's involved before starting.
